The Strange Fellows Brewing Company has been busy with their East Vancouver based brewery typically working with a line out the door. In their first packaged offerings a select few beers have been canned in 473ml 4-packs available at select craft beer retailers and at the brewery. From the tall can, the Jongleur, a Belgian Witbier, pours as a rather cloudy golden-straw colour with two fingers of head which settles without a trace. The Jongleur has an aroma of orange-citrus, coriander, and wheat in a light and very sessionable smell. The body too is light and easy drinking with a wheatiness that adds more body that expected for the lightness of flavour. The orange-citrus tones are fresh while the coriander gives a light spice to the mix. Hop adds a bit of complexity to the flavour but no real bitterness is noticeable. The citrus adds a light sweetness with a peel-like aromatic tone that comes into play. Overall the Jongleur is a fantastic summer beer with just what the Belgian Ordered in a West-Coast/Belgian Wit. The can may be tall but the glass will empty quickly…

Amid bursts of confetti & music the Juggler entertains us with a handful of oranges. As the oranges rise & fall, the planets revolve in the universe, babies are born, & the old pass on. Jongleur – our silky bodied, spicy & aromatic Wit – infuses any moment with a spark of joy. A glass of this bright & refreshing beer reminds us of the juggler’s simple lesson: To take pleasure in both the big & the small things in life.
