Vancouver Craft Beer Week Kicks Off With Awards Gala

Vancouver Craft Beer Week Hosts Vancouver Magazine Craft Beer Awards at the Opening Gala

Vancouver Craft Beer Week is something that everyone in British Columbia can look forward to. Those within an arms reach of the festivities can enjoy 10 days of amazing craft beer, delicious food and events that will be remembered for years to come. The 2015 VCBW festival offers what attendees have come to love plus a few new twists to make the week even more exciting.

Vancouver Craft Beer Week Opening GalaEach year the week long affair kicks off with a gala event. In its third year the event returned to the Yaletown Roundhouse venue where a handfull of breweries were serving their best offerings. Additionally, the outdoor area was open for patrons to enjoy a taster in the setting Vancouver sun. This outdoor area gave some breathing room in the indoor space and offered a breath of fresh air that can be tough to find at such an event.

The big addition and draw for this year’s event was the addition of Vancouver Magazine’s innaugural Craft Beer Awards. The event lined up with the release of the June issue of Vancouver Magazine where 43 beers were offered accolades across 15 categories of beers. While you can find the full list of winners at the bottom of this article the coveted Best In Show award was given to Steamworks Brewing Company for their ever-popular Imperial Red Ale.
