Four Mile Brewing - Double Chocolate Porter Review Four Mile Brewing Co. – Double Chocolate Porter Review

Four Mile Brewing has released a special beer in their Limited Edition Brew series of wax topped beers. Their Double Chocolate Porter is a big 7% alcohol and a 35 IBU beer. Pouring this beer the colour is a very dark brown and the head is approximately a finger’s thickness. The head settles relatively quickly leaving no signs of lacing left behind on the glass. A nutty aroma of chocolate and coffee gives a dry aroma and forecasts a big bitter-sweet, chocolate flavour. The beer is surprisingly carbonated with a tingly sensation on the tongue. A strong chocolate flavour is paired with flavours of coffee, caramel, and toffee. The beer has notes of sweetness but is actually rather dry. The body is rather heavy too with a consistency more of a stout than a porter but that is where the ‘double’ comes from. The 4 Mile Brewing Double Chocolate Porter is big on flavour and chocolate fans can rejoice in its chocolatiness.
