Le Chatelier Sour Belgain AleTownsite Brewing Releases The Le Chatelier Sour Belgian Ale

Powell River, BC – April2015

This years HULK release combines Townsite Brewing Inc. brewmaster, Cédric’s new passions: souring & barrel aging.

Le Chatelier: noun 1. a sugar trading vessel now forming part of Powell River’s floating breakwater; 2.a kettle soured Belgian pale ale aged on wood.

Every April Cédric concocts a Belgian style beer to honour one of the many concrete ships that form a breakwater around Powell River’s mill.

In this, our third year of business, Townsite Brewing decided to let the Brewmaster loose! expect to see lots of new experimental beers with an emphasis on sour and barrel aged varieties.

“With this beer I decided to both sour it and age it on wood”, says Cédric, explaining “the flavours are really complex, tart apple with oak undertones and lots of fruitiness from the Belgian yeast”.

A contest was held again this year for the label art work. Townsite had some really great entries from our talented local artists. Congratulations go to Jessica Cherett for her version of Le Chatelier. Please come by the brewery to visit her artwork which will be on display this spring.
