Phillips Brewing Co. – Victoria Humane Society Benefit Brew Dunkle Weizen Review

Phillips Humaine Society Charity Dunkel Weizen The winner of this year’s Fillips Brewing Co Benefit Brew charity competition was Victoria Humane Society who will receive proceeds from the sale of this Dunkel Weizen. From the bottle the charitable beer pours a very dark brown colour topped with a finger and a half of head which settles without a trace. From this dark, German Wheat Ale comes toasted notes with a solid wheat body, clove and a touch of chocolate. The body has a fairly strong carbonation and a light creaminess to the texture. Wheat and chocolate tones come through most apparent in the flavour with a banana-clove flavour coming through as the flavour progresses. As a mid-sweet, dark wheat beer this is a delicious and unique Dunkel Weizen that you can feel good about drinking as it gives back to an amazing cause – the Victoria Humane Society.
