The Canuck Empire Brewing team has released another beer. This time it is a Coffee Stout dubbed as the Creekside. This Aldergrove brewed beer is as they put it “Winter in a bottle”. Pouring this Coffee Stout is pitch black in colour and is topped with two fingers of thick and dense head. This crest of head settles fairly quickly leaving a thick layer of lacing on the glass’ sides. The aroma is big and strong with notes of coffee and chocolate with a delicate creaminess to it. The body is smooth and creamy while the flavour is dark and slightly bitter. A coffee bitterness and bitter-sweet chocolate flavour makes for a strong and intense flavour combination while lactose and a touch of smoke gives a subtle twist to the coffee stout style. This beer is light on the tongue but big and intense with flavour. For the Canuck Empire brewing team, this may just be their best brew yet?
