Central City Brewery – Red Racer Gingerhead Gingerbread Stout Review
The Central City Brewing Company has teamed up with 99.3 C-Fox and the Jeff O’Neil Show to brew a charity beer called the Gingerhead. $1 from each and every bottle of this beer will be donated to BC Food Banks. As a Gingerbread Stout this spiced ale pours as a deep and dark brown colour topped with two thick fingers of dark and lacing head. The Gingerhead gives off a strongly spiced aroma of nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and a touch of molasses in a relatively sweet package. The beer has a lightly creamy texture to it and the flavour is not as over the top as you may have expected. A dark and chocolaty stout hosts the gingerbread spice flavours in a well-balanced, fairly sweet winter package. This is not a candy beer but rather a big infusion of flavour to a strong and tasty stout. The Gingerhead is a well spiced and flavourful stout that will help to feed others with every purchase!
