Powell St Brewing Ode To Citra Pale Ale Review Bottle Powell Street Brewery – Ode To Citra Pale Ale Review

Powell Street Brewery is now brewing out of their new brewing facility and from this slightly more west location comes the Ode To Citra. Packed full of Citra Hops this Pale Ale pours from the bomber bottle as an amber coloured ale with a fairly thick finger’s worth of head. As the head settles it leaves light lacing on the glass and has a big, bold aroma of citrus and pine. The citrus hops give a big citrus nose with a kick of tropical fruit and a northwest pine-tone. The mouth feel list light and soft with a flavour that is big with hops but not overly bitter. The citra hops along with a fairly defined maltiness give a balanced and fragrant brew with strong flavour but in a very sessionable package. The Ode To Citra is exactly as the name describes, a tribute to the light but flavourful aspects of the Citra hop – a BC craft beer favourite!
