Persephone Brewing Oktoberfest Lager Review

Persephone Brewing Co. – Oktoberfest Lager Review

Persephone Brewing Co has brewed up a beer for Oktoberfest. This Oktoberfest German Lager comes from the Sunshine Coast based brewery and farm and pours a chestnut colour topped with a finger and a half of moderately thick head. The smell is of German malts, light caramel tones and a kick of European style, bittering hops. The beer’s body is mid-thick and opens the palate to a relatively bitter flavour with a well malted front. The malt tones tend to take charge with but and hearty earth tones along with a hop bitterness to the side. The earthy tones are bigger than average and give the palate a big and somewhat overwhelming sensory experience. This is not your typical Oktoberfest beer with bigger than expected flavours and a strong taste of Germany.
