Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub – Nut Brown Ale Review Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub – Nut Brown Ale Review

A longstanding tradition has emerged witht he Spinnaker’s Nut Brown Ale. This icon of the brewpubs beer lineup has become a staple beer for many Victoria and BC as a whole craft beer drinkers. This traditional ale pours a fairly dark chestnut brown colour topped with a thick finger of head which leaves light lacing on the glass as it settles. The scent coming off Spinnaker’s Nut Brown is rather light with toasted malts, light caramel and a mild nuttiness. The flavour in this tradition infused brew has a nutty warmth to it along side a light caramel sweetness and toasted malt flavour. This beer may remain similar to nearly a decade ago but the flavour has evolved and is still quite enjoyable and it goes down smooth. This may not be pushing the boundaries of BC Craft Beer but let’s not forget the place for tradition and the place where BC craft beer was shaped to its current form. This is a great beer that can be enjoyed by nearly anyone, regardless of taste preferences.
