Spinnakers Brewery – 30th Anniversary Grand CruSpinnakers Brewery – 30th Anniversary Grand Cru Review

Celebrating their 30th anniversary the Spinnakers Brewpub has released a commemorative beer called the Grand Cru. This beer is available in a 650ml bomber bottle topped with a gold foil crest. The beer pours a copper colour topped with a finger and a half of head which settles without a trace on the glass. The beer smells slightly boozy with Belgian yeast tones, light caramel notes and a touch of metal. The flavour starts off light with some alcohol tones along mild Belgian yeast. The booziness mellows quickly giving a caramel, well malted and slightly metallic flavour right through to the finish. The final notes are surprisingly mellow for the strength of the ale making for a beer that goes down easier than you may think.
