For the Love of Craft Beer – Brew Love Short Film Highlights the Explosion of Craft in BC
Through the Telus Storyhive program local BC film maker Jeremy Dyson has dug down into the BC craft beer industry to see why the business has been booming in recent years. The emergence of the term ‘craft’ marked a definitive change in the perception of beer and the microbreweries that have been pushing the boundaries of perception. Interviewing some of the newest breweries in BC to capitalize on the boom Dyson taps into the minds of BC craft beer. In addition to local brewers such as Deep Cove, Green Leaf and upcoming Strange Fellows Dyson also picks the mind of the Thirsty Writer – Joe Wiebe. Running through the history of craft beer starting back in 1982 Wiebe ties the whole story together.
From this fim we know that the future is bright for craft beer in British Columbia but that we owe much of today’s and tomorrow’s success to the craft brewers of yesterday. BC historic breweries such as the Troller, Spinnakers, R&B plus many more have paved the way to BC being a global destination for craft beer. The future of craft beer is now and it is delicious!
