A WELCOME CLOUD THIS SUMMER!

Okanagan Spring Brewery Unveils Okanagan Spring Cloudy Amber Ale

Vernon, BC – June 10, 2014 – Whether it’s BBQs, beaches or camping, the latest and greatest addition from Okanagan Spring Brewery this season is its flavourful new release, Okanagan Spring Cloudy Amber Ale – perhaps the only time British Columbians will be craving clouds this summer.

Okanagan Spring Cloudy Amber Ale is a distinctive take on the traditional beer style. A hazy deep amber colour, it’s kept unfiltered for a unique cloud on the pour. From a tasting perspective – it’s a well-balanced beer that starts with a floral, hoppy taste followed by caramel malt tones.

okaspringsbottleOkanagan Spring Brewery’s Brewmaster of 30 years, Stefan Tobler, says he’s delighted to release the new ale – sure to be a popular addition to an already outstanding line-up.
“This is an excellent new brew that’s well-balanced, deep in colour, cloudy and hopping with flavour. In keeping with our commitment to purity, it’s brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law using only four ingredients – barley, hops, water and yeast, making it all natural. This is truly a beer to enjoy year-round and for any occasion – best paired with spicy foods, soft cheese and red meats.”

The new release delivers on a growing U.S. based trend towards amber ales, which is beginning to have a flow-on effect here in Canada. Amber ale was identified as one of the top 10 craft beer styles in the U.S. for 2013*.

Okanagan Spring Cloudy Amber Ale will be available at leading liquor stores from today in 6 x 341mL bottles, as well as on tap at selected venues across British Columbia.

30 years on, Okanagan Spring is still brewed in Vernon, where it was first founded. From humble beginnings, it has become one of BC’s most popular craft beers. The Okanagan Spring portfolio includes favourites such as Okanagan Spring Pale Ale, Okanagan Spring 1516 Bavarian Lager, Okanagan Spring Porter, Okanagan Spring Brewmaster’s Black Lager, Okanagan Spring Apricot Summer Weizen – and now Okanagan Spring Cloudy Amber Ale.
