Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers Release the Olivia, Rosemary & Olive Gin

Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers Olivia Gin
2014_04_BMBC-4365Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers have released the second option in their bottled spirits. Following their Vodka from a few months back this second release is called Olivia and it is a Rosemary and Olive Gin. Infused with a healthy portion of Rosemary and topped off with a hint of green olive this Gin is not your typical spirit. In addition to the delicate infusion of flavours Olivia also has a light sweentess that comes through the distilling process giving added drinkability and an unexpected smoothness. This is a gin that will make your favourite cocktail sing with new lift or you may just want to sit and watch the setting sun while sipping this calming and soothing and somehow still refreshing spirit.

The first bottles of the Olivia Rosemary and Olive Gin is available from the North Vancouver, Deep Cove location in 375ml bottles which come in at 88 proof or 44% ABV. A 375ml ice-wine style bottle will set you back $20 and it is a bargain for the flavours that come with it. Standard 750ml bottles will be released soon and will likely fall in line with the Vodka pricing at around $35 per bottle.

Deep Cove Olivia Gin & Tonic (easy on the tonic)

Deep Cove Olivia Gin & Tonic (easy on the tonic)

Whether you are pouring a Gin and Tonic, a Bramble or a Martini it will surely be delicious!

Martinis may not have the same lust that they carried decades ago but a Gin like this can bring out the 007 or Audrey Hepburn in you. Crack out the black suit or evening gown and pour yourself a martini with the Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers Olivia Gin.

The Martini is often imagined but rarely perfected. The key to the perfect martini comes down to ingredients and temperature. The classic martini has only two ingredients–so it’s important to use the best ingredients you can find such as the Deep Cove Olivia. Vermouth should be stored in the refrigerator to retain its flavour. Make sure the martini glass is ice cold.

– 1 part Gin
– 1 part Dry Vermouth

Combine in shaker over cracked ice, stir and strain into a cocktail glass. Optionally, garnish with an olive or two or a twist.
