Tree Brewing Spiced Reserve Ale Review

Tree Brewing Co. – Limited Edition Spiced Reserve Ale Review

Tree Brewing has stepped up to the season with their Spiced Reserve Ale. This winter-inspired beer is a deep chestnut brown colour that pours with two fingers of tightly packed, creamy head. The aroma coming off the Spiced Reserve Ale is sweet with winter spices including nutmeg, allspice and cloves. A slight booze note also comes through on the nose but that is not a huge surprise with an 8.0% alcohol content. The flavour is big and bold with a strong ale flavour coming through. The hit is a slightly boozy, big malt body that leads into a spiced middle section. The centre of the tasting is filled with notes of nutmeg and clove with a booze taste lingering afterwards. The finish is made up of toasted malts, light caramel, nutmeg, allspice and that becoming familiar, alcohol tone. This may not be the smoothest of winter, strong ales but it is flavourful, warming and quite enjoyable. Pick up a bottle for a winter spice medley that should not be missed out on.

Oh nice. I was worried this would be another doctored up amber ale. That sounds quite tasty.
