Hopscotch Vancouver 2013Hopscotch 2013 is almost here. Starting November 11th and running through the 17th is the largest beer and liquor festival to come to BC – Hopscotch. The week-long event’s main attraction is the Grand Tasting Hall being held at the PNE on November 15th and 16th. At this event there are literally hundreds of options for tasting including some of BC’s Canada’s and the world’s best beer and scotch.

Renaissance Brewing Company Stone Cutter Scotch Ale
We used 9 malts blended together to produce layers of caramel, toffee, liquorice, chocolate and roasty f;lavours. These layers are balanced by a tart, raisiny fruitiness that gradually gives way to give this dark beer a lingering dry finish.

Chocolate Bunny Stout
Chocolate Bunny stout beer pours dark brown with a moderate tan head. The smell of toasted coffee with a light cocoa aroma coming through slowly so that it is very pleasant and not overpowering. Imperial Jack Double IPA is a big, beefy IPA. Crafted with Malted 2 row Barley, Cara Pils Malt, Caramel 30L Malt, and Cascade Hops. Pours Pale golden-stra color with a nice 1 finger head and good retention. Aromas are of a strong pine and citrus hop. The pine and citrus flavors both come through with taste that nearly conceals the malt, but not quite.
