Moon Under Water Brewery – Pumpkin Pearzen Harvest Weizen Review

The moon under Water Brewery has taken a different approach to the pumpkin philosophy on beer. Their rendition of a fall favorite comes in the form of the Pumpkin Pearzen Harvest Weizen. This opaque, straw coloured Weizen pours with one finger of lightly lacing head and smells of Belgian wheat, malts and has a scent of pear sweetness. The Pumpkin notes are mild and in the background but are still there. Overall, without the name you may actually not realize this was a seasonally themed beer. The flavour gathers sweetness from the pear while garnering earthy tones from the pumpkin. The Weizen base adds a light and mellow background to a seasonal twist. For a fall, none-the-less pumpkin beer this is as mellow as they come but it offers a light and unique twist on autumnal beer flavour.
