Central City Brewing Co. – Red Racer Spiced Pumpkin Ale
With the expansion of Central City Brewery’s Red Racer line of beers into bottles comes the Spiced Pumpkin Ale. This amber-chestnut coloured ale pours with two fingers of head the disperses fairly slowly. Upon pouring this seasonal ale the room fills with the smells of grandma’s fall baking. Notes of nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon combine with a caramel-pumpkin sweetness that tantalizes the nostrils. The flavour is light but full of pumpkin-spice. While many heavy-on-the-spice ales have a creaminess factor to them this remains rather light with the added kick of nutmeg and other pumpkin spices. The finish is also lightly hopped and quite dry leaving a light spice on the palate. This fall brew is a great balance of a light and drinkable amber ale with the intensity of pumpkin pie deliciousness.
