Longwood Brewery – Extra Ale Review

With the Longwood Brewery’s new canning capabilities comes the Extra Ale, a golden-amber coloured, Blonde ale from Nanaimo BC. This beer pours with a finger and a half of quickly settling head and smells light and refreshing. A malted barley base runs the flavour profile with minimal hops and sweetness along side. The smell is light and suggests a light and sessionable ale. The flavour is similar to the smell being well malted, a touch of sweetness and minimal hops. This beer may not stand out from a crowd but it would be easy to drink the Extra Ale all day long without a second thought.

Alcohol – 5.0%
Size – 568ml
Price – $3.85 (The Gull Liquor Store)
