Granville Island Brewing – Thirsty Farmer Saison Review

From the Black Note Book Series of beers Granville island has brewed up the Thirsty Farmer Saison. Brewed with freshly harvested unmalted what and rye this summer beer is a slightly clouded, straw coloured ale with three fingers of fluffy head. through the nose comes notes of Belgian style wheat citrus, coriander and citrus. The flavor is bigger than your average saison with coriander, citrus and wheat flavours making for a broader depth of flavour than expected. The finish has a hint of spiciness to it that is unique and paired with a light hop for a balanced and sessionable summer ale.

Not my favorite Saison but it was a good example of the style.
