Old Yale Brewing Co. – Chilliwack Blonde Ale Review

The Chilliwack Blonde is and ale that looks fantastic, turns heads driving by and will teach you a few things but you may not want to take it home to meet the family. From the Old Yale Brewing Company this Blonde Ale pours with a single finger of head which disperses quickly into the glass. The ale’s colour is a golden-straw which smells of rich malts and a honey sweetness. Through the smell to taste the beer’s flavour kicks off with a malted base that builds into a honey-sweet, mildly hopped middle through to the finish. A mild hop-bitterness helps to balance the sweetness and add some depth to the beer’s flavour profile. Overall the Chilliwack Blonde is a touch sweeter than you may expect making for a drink that you can’t enjoy all day in the corn fields of the East Fraser Valley but a glass or two on a hot, summer evening is something that anyone can enjoy.

I quite enjoyed this brew but I do agree it was a bit sweet.
