Granville Island Brewing – Cloak and Dagger Cascadian Dark Ale Review

New from Granville Island Brewery is the Cloak and Dagger, A Cascadian Dark Ale. This beer is a dark brown colour that pours with more than 2 fingers of off-white head. Through the crema-like foam comes notes of toffee, caramel, toasted malt and a piney-cascadian hop. Tasting the cloak and dagger the taste buds are bombarded with flavours similar to the taste including chocolate, caramel, toffee and a well defined cascadian hop. This beer is exactly what a Cascadian Dark Ale should be – flavourful, dark, full bodied and well hopped featuring a piney bite. The flavour in this beer is quite strong and not for the bud-light-type but that is not why you are reading this. If you enjoy hops and dark beer flavour this is a beer that you will love!
