STANLEY PARK BREWERY INTRODUCES NEW BELGIAN STYLE WHEAT BEER FOR PATIO SEASON IN BRITISH COLUMBIA!

913217B_Wit_frnt_PAVancouver, BC (May, 2013) – Stanley Park Brewery is proud to present its newest seasonal release, Stanley Park Wit – a true Belgian style Witbier, specially created for local drinkers in British Columbia to enjoy outside this summer with friends or paired with seasonal foods. Stanley Park Wit is a completely natural brew, full of refreshing flavour and an aroma that is distinct, bright, and lightly spiced. With notes of fruit and just a hint of clove, it is everything you would expect from Stanley Park Brewery, and at 5.0% ABV and 16 IBU, it is both approachable and sessionable.

“The hops are what set this finely crafted, Belgian style Witbier apart from a typical German Wiess or Weizen,” says Andy Murison, Vice President of Marketing for Mark Anthony Brands. “We use a precise and deliberate blend that proves a carefully crafted hop profile is not only reserved for IPA’s.”
This locally made, internationally inspired Belgian Witbier remains full and flavourful through the centre with a lasting finish. Complex yet subtle, this is a balanced beer in every regard. Hand crafted with some of the best, 100% Canadian, prairie-grown two row malt, Stanley Park Wit delivers a nice aroma with a soft bitterness that is not sharp or overly citrus.913218A_SP_Wit_6

“Our Brewmasters have taken care to pare down 12 distinct yeasts to develop a signature Belgian yeast strain, which will only be used in this seasonal release,” adds Murison. “The unique yeast profile adds to the Wit’s character, and this is where the complex fruit flavour profile comes from.”

Made with nearly half of the malt sourced from local wheat, Stanley Park Wit exudes the flavour characteristics found in a traditional wheat beer, with hints of coriander, orange peel and citrus aromatics and a fruity, well balanced finish. The signature colour is pale yellow and cloudy in nature with a distinct white fluffy head due to the unfiltered style and the yeast that remains.

Stanley Park Wit takes 21 days to brew, and we are proud to give it an extra week to ensure a distinctive and refreshing, residual flavour profile. Wit pairs nicely with drunken mussels and frites, juicy prawn dishes, or contrasting white fish entrees. Enjoy it fresh on a patio, or give it a try with a slice of seasonal fruit!
