Lighthouse Brewing Co. – Belgian Black Ale Review

The Lighthouse Brewing Belgian black is the yang to the Belgian White’s Ying. Both equipped with rating improving bottles this particular beer pours into the glass with 3 full fingers of mocha coloured head. The foamy top is slow to disperse above a near black coloured beer and smells slightly sour with a malted back. The taste starts off mellow and fresh quickly building into a lightly smoked, sweetened-malt flavour that hits notes of cherry. The finally of this strong flavour is slightly boozy with toasted notes but for 9% remains relatively smooth and easy to drink. This is not an every-day drinker but if you want to drink a strong, flavourful beer while admiring a beautiful bottle this is a great choice.
