Tree Brewing Co. – Vertical Winter Ale Review

Tree Brewing has a Winter Ale on the shelves for this fall build-up into the holiday season. This beer comes with a couple of fingers of head and pours an amber brown. The smell wafts off the head with a smooth vanilla spice with notes of clove. The taste is creamy on the tongue with an almost oily feeling on the tongue. The clove is strong and bold but not as much as the smell may suggest and is balanced by flavours of caramel and nut. The Vanilla flavour is present through the entire beer but comes into its strength in the finish when paired with a mild hop. This is not the most daring of winter ales but it is very drinkable and smooth. This is a Winter Ale that can be had over and over without it feeling like hearing Christmas carols well into January.
