Swans Brewpub – Extra Special Bitter Review

The Swan’s Hotel and Brewpub or Buckerfield’s Brewery ESB pours a copper-amber colour with a finger and a half of head. The smell is malty with a sweet, caramel note that lingers with a mild hop bitterness. The taste comes through with a malt base and a toasted caramel flavour. This mild sweetness leads up to a hop-citrus middle to finish that is both refreshing and flavourful. Overall this beer is rather light and un-obstructive but there is enough flavour to tempt your taste buds for more. This beer may not blow you away but it will taste amazing on a warm spring’s day.
