Tree Brewing – Limited Edition Captivator Doppelbock Review

The Tree Brewing Captivator Doppelbock has been released for a few years in a row now and has become a delicious seasonal special on BC liquor store shelves. Pouring a deep amber-brown colour with a finger and a half of quickly dispersing head this doppelbock smells of toasted malt and caramel. The flavour starts of light but quickly erupts into a caramel-infused, burnt-honey flavoured boozy lager. The booze flavour is fairly intense but a strong, toasted caramel flavour balances sweet and boozy. On the stronger side of things for a bock this is not for the faint of heart but makes for a unique, intense and quite pleasant change from the mundane beers you may be used too. If you want to put a little bit of extra hair on your chest it is time that you gave the Tree Brewing Co. Captivator Doppelbock a try.
