Whistler Brewing Co. – Powder Mountain Lager Review

The Whistler Brewing Co. Powder Mountain Lager is a malty beer with a smooth honey flavour. The beer pours a very light colour while the flavours insinuate something slightly darker even verging on amber. While some may find this a bit sweet for a traditional lager, it is still quite refreshing.

Sitting at the Moxies in the YVR terminal and ordered this Whistler Powder Mtn Lager which was on tap. I’ve had the beer several times before from the bottle and found it enjoyable but not exceptional. Though tonight from the tap it was really very tasty. There was a moderate grain taste but the presence of Hallertau hops was certain. It was there as it first struck the palette and remained as you slowly swallowed. A late addition I suspect but not so much that it was if you knew no better. Two thumbs up from this craft beer lover and avid home brewer.
