Cannery Brewing Co – India Pale Ale Review
The Cannery Brewing IPA is a staple among the bottles in craft beer retailers across the province. This longstanding India Pale Ale appears in the glass a light-amber colour topped with two fingers of lacing head. From this head comes a hoppy, citrus nose that is both refreshing and intriguing. The flavour starts off with a crisp and fresh hop. Mild piney notes alongside a citrus bitterness build into a metallic centre. Rated at an 85 IBU this is a hop-forward beer but not as powerful as you may anticipate. As the flavour profile approaches its finish a dry, hop bitterness along side a brassy flavour are left lingering on the tongue. The Cannery Brewing IPA is not one of the stronger IPAs in BC but it is an easy drinking and rather delicious option among the sea of BC craft brewed IPAs. The Cannery Brewing India Pale Ale is a mid-hopped, malty IPA out of a small brewery in Penticton BC. With four hop varieties in this NorthWest style IPA the taste is bitter but smooth with a touch of nutty-sweetness around the finish.
